Infinity Ward has dropped the first major post-launch update for Modern Warfare 2 with patch 1.08.

As players have been spending time with the game, settling in on their weapons of choice and preferred tactics, they’ll be keeping a close eye on this update to see how the game’s meta will shift going forward.

While the official patch notes are coming later today, here’s what we know so far.

How big the patch is appears to depend on what format you’re getting it on. It’s a fairly big one if you’re an Xbox owner, as it seems the update is clocking in at about 49.7GB.

However, it’s being reported the update only clocks in around 1GB on PC and we can confirm it’s only 860.5MB on PS5.

There’s speculation that the update is so large on Xbox as it might also include some initial files for Warzone 2.0’s launch in just over a week’s time. However, this hasn’t been confirmed at this time.

Right now, we don’t know the full details of what’s in today’s patch – but Infinity Ward has promised a full blog post on the update later today. We’ll update then once we have them.

However, they have confirmed that this patch has re-enabled the attachment tuning feature, something the studio disabled earlier this week to fix a bug.

The update is available to download now across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
