Goalkeepers, in FM, will play a bit longer in their career than a lot of players in other positions. You can sign a 30 year old keeper and get another 5 or 6 years out of them.
In this list below we will outline who the best keepers are in FM23 the very moment you load up the game, a lot of them will be unobtainable unless you’re at one of the very best clubs in the game.
FM23 Best GoalkeepersName | Age | Club | Nationality |
Thibaut Courtois | 30 | Real Madrid | Belgium |
Manuel Neuer | 36 | Bayern Munich | Germany |
Ederson | 28 | Manchester City | Brazil |
Alisson | 29 | Liverpool | Brazil |
Jan Oblak | 29 | Atletico Madrid | Slovenia |
Edouard Mendy | 30 | Chelsea | Senegal |
Marc-Andre ter Stegen | 30 | Barcelona | Germany |
Mike Maignan | 27 | Milan | France |
Gianluigi Donnarumma | 23 | PSG | Italy |
Keylor Navas | 34 | PSG | Costa Rica |

We have kept the list to ten, because these are the stand outs in the game, although there are a few big omissions like Lloris and Sommer.

However, for keepers, we have also put together a list of players that are bit younger than the majority of the ones above, but they’re also more realistic for you to sign. Especially if you’re at a smaller club.
FM23: Best Goalkeepers to SignName | Age | Club | Nationality |
Illan Meslier | 22 | Leeds Utd | France |
Girogio Mamardeshvili | 21 | Valencia | Georgia |
Juan Musso | 28 | Atalanta | Argentina |
Dean Henderson | 25 | Nottingham Forest (on loan) | England |
Justin Bijlow | 24 | Feyenoord | Holland |
Arnau Tenas | 21 | Barcelona B | Spain |
Altay Bayindir | 24 | Fenerbahce | Turkey |
Julen Agirrezabala | 21 | A. Bilbao | Spain |
Dominik Livakovic | 27 | Dinamo Zagreb | Croatia |
All of the players above are much younger, and would be great singings if you don’t quite have the riches of some of the larger teams in the game. Our pick of the bunch is Altay Bayindir, he may not be as well known as some of the other players on the list, but he seems to be able to develop incredibly quickly on FM.

Meslier would also be a great option, but he is already at a Premier League, so the chance are he is going to cost a lot. Unless of course, Leeds are relegated.
That is definitely something to keep in mind on FM, always scout the teams that are being relegated for your league, as you can grab some of their better players for less.
Who is the best Goalkeeper in FM23?Thibaut Courtois is the best goalkeeper in FM23. At 30 years old he still has plenty of years left before he begins to slow down, but he will be a difficult player pry away from Real Madrid as he is their current No.1.
It is worth noting though, his distribution and eccentricity is quite poor compared to keepers like Ederson and Alisson.
