High on Life PC system requirements – minimum, recommend and can I run it?

High on Life is finally here – and brings with it a glorious, beautiful world to explore courtesy of Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland.

Developed by Squanch Games, High on Life (which is also on Xbox), will require some pretty decent hardware to run it at the recommended settings but is surprisingly merciful to older hardware.

Minimum wise, the game – which is powered by the versatile Unreal Engine, can be enjoyed on hardware up to three generations behind – but, as you’d expect, you will likely have to sacrifice performance and graphical fidelity to run it.

Here’s what you’ll need to run High on Life on your PC. These requirements have been taken from the Game Pass official site, and can be found here for those wanting more detail.

The minimum requirements are actually not too high here, with even the ageing Nvidia 1060 capable of outputting the game.

Memory wise, 8GB is fine and not a stretch for desktop, but those gaming on older laptops may be caught out here – so be wary of that.

Factors such as Motion blur, View Distance Quality and Anti Aliasing Quality will likely needed to be set to low in the graphics menu. Remember, High on Life is Steam Deck compatible, so if you have one – it may be best to run on that for better experience if your hardware is old.

To play High on Life as the developers intended, you’ll need to at least have Nvidia 2060 GPU / or a RX 5600 XT. Both boast a decent amount of video memory, 6GB, which will be more than enough to crank up a number of the game’s graphics options without sacrificing performance.

This means that graphics settings such as Anti-Aliasing, Texture Quality and Post Processing can likely be set to High without hurting the game’s stability. The 8GB required for memory is not taxing (many PC owners have 32GB as standard) while most gaming laptops now have a minimum of 8GB.

Of course, graphics settings are worth tweaking until you find what works best for you.
