Switch Game Ever at 18.2 GB

It doesn’t look like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is going to get delayed again (at least we hope not), and ahead of its launch in May, Nintendo has started unveiling new details on the highly anticipated open world sequel. Having recently shown off a new trailer for it and revealed a Collector’s Edition, the company has also revealed what the game’s file size will be.

As mentioned on the game’s Switch eShop page, it will require 18.2 GB of free storage space. Of course, that’s not much compared to what you see for games on other consoles, but by Switch standards, 18.2 GB is pretty sizeable. In fact, Tears of the Kingdom has the largest ever file size for a Switch game to date, exceeding its predecessor Breath of the Wild’s size of 14.4 GB.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches for the Nintendo Switch on May 12. It will be the first Nintendo game to cost $70, though the company has said that price won’t be the standard for all first party games going forward.
